This luxury accommodation in Northumberland is ideal for couples and families, for a luxury standard of living whilst in this medieval location.

 

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

Dickens is centrally yet privately placed within central Alnwick town, in a quiet little haven right next to Barter Books. It will take you no more than a few minutes on foot to reach the main street of the town. You can easily walk to Alnwick Garden, Alnwick Treehouse and the Castle from the house, as well as a great selection of restaurants, shops and pubs.  The coast is easy to reach from Alnwick, both north and south. Southbound you will come to Alnmouth, Warkworth and Amble with the quirky Alnmouth pubs, beautiful Warkworth beach and rockpools and the interesting Amble harbour. To the north you have Craster with their nationally recognised Swallowfish kipper Smokehouse, Embleton with it’s stunning beach, Beadnell – a watersports haven, Seahouses harbour with famous Billy Shiels Farne Islands boat tours and Bamburgh with its magnificent castle.  Drive inland to discover the charming country village of Rothbury, most well known for the landmark Cragside and it’s beautiful grounds. Discover the stunning Ingram Valley and Cheviot Hills for any keen walkers, or even drive up to the borders of Scotland which are very accessible from Northumberland. There is lots to see and do when staying in Alnwick, whether it be on foot from your doorstep or a pleasant drive away.

Interior Details
The apartment can sleep four guests in two bedrooms, one superking and one twin. All the bedding is anti-allergenic. The main bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a stand-alone plunge bath and separate shower cubicle.   There is a separate family bathroom, which also has a bath, with a rainfall shower above.  The living space is open plan and features exposed wooden beams, sash windows and original stonework.  The living space is bright and airy as the windows are large and south / west facing.  There is a dining table for six, and a living area with large sofas, armchair and smart TV with Netflix.  (There’s a second TV with Netflix in the twin bedroom). The kitchen is modern and well equipped, including breakfast bar, oven, dishwasher, coffee machine and all the other appliances and utensils you’re likely to need.  There is free unlimited WiFi throughout the property.

 

Exterior Details
There is an enclosed communal garden at Wagonway House, with no table or chairs. There is one off-road designated parking bay for Dickens in the residents’ carpark, and lots of free additional parking very close by.

Conditions of Rental
One well-behaved small-medium size dog (no bigger than a spaniel) welcome for a small charge of £20 per holiday. Dog sitting services available. Arrival days are Friday or Monday (short breaks available).  Dickens is on the ground floor, with accommodation across 1 floor and level access in through the front door.  Welcome hamper provided. Complimentary toiletries are included. A bespoke property and local area guide tells you all you need to know to make the most of your stay.   One high chair is available on request when booking.
