General Info

Ambler’s Retreat is the perfect holiday base for those who want to unwind and escape while also enjoying easy access to shops, restaurants, markets and attractions. The cottage itself has been beautifully kitted out with contemporary furnishings, a wood burning stove, all the mod cons and extra little touches like White Company toiletries. The central location puts you within a 5 minute stroll of Amble harbour and an eclectic selection of pop-up shops, fish restaurants and the sea. And within the local area there is much to explore, especially if you enjoy leafy river walks, historic castles, warm pubs and beautiful beaches. What more could you ask for?

 

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

The house is situated just off the main high street of Amble, heading towards the Braid and the coast. A 5 minute walk will take you to the working harbour and there are plenty of good restaurants and interesting independent shops within the town, or you could walk to Warkworth (half an hour on foot) where there are cafes, pubs and a beach. Other nearby beaches include Low Hauxley and Druridge Bay, and the many sights of unspoilt Northumberland are easily accessible from here.

Accommodation Details

Interior Details

The house has four bedrooms - one super king, two doubles and one twin - as well as a family bathroom and a separate shower room. On the ground floor there is a lounge with a TV, a very well equipped kitchen, a dining room and a cloakroom, and the house is well furnished with books, music and films.

Exterior Details

There is no garden but opposite the cottage there is a huge private garage with seating, a football game table, a dart board, a pool/snooker table and an extra drinks fridge. This is also a secure space for storing bikes and canoes.

Conditions of Rental

Three medium sized well-behaved dogs are permitted at a charge of £20 each. One baby is welcome and a cot/highchair can be provided. Arrival day is Friday or Monday, with check in from 4pm and check out by 10am. Discounts for reduced occupancy are available.
