This cottage has been newly built to the design of the 17th century farmhouse mixing traditional features with modern comforts. The property is situated on a working farm, with livestock such as chickens, sheep and a resident peacock, Percy. There are tearooms onsite, Carp fishing pond, Artisan Bakery and of course the ruins of the priory. The farm is nestled in a valley and surrounded by green fields and hundreds of acres of woodland. From your door, there are many circular walks and bike rides. If you are a real ale or cider fan visit our micropubs; The Gamekeepers Freehouse on Eastwood high street 5 minutes drive and the Poachers Alehouse, in Jacksdale 10 minutes drive. We are lucky in the midlands to be surrounded by hundreds of microbreweries and micropubs. Nearby you can visit Newstead Abbey, ancestral home of the poet Lord Byron, Wollaton Hall with its 400 acre deer park and natural history museum and further afield but just 35 minutes away are Chatsworth Estate, the Peak District and Derbyshire in general. Both Nottingham and Derby city centres are a 30 minute drive and accessible by car, tram or bus. The property comprises of an open plan kitchen/diner/lounge area benefiting from a wood burner to relax in front with a TV and DVD player.
